New work: Playing with Shapes

Title: Playing with Shapes

Dimensions: 55 × 75 in (oil on cotton)

Description: A contemplative painting of Henk captured in a warm, winter glow. The composition centers on a three-quarter view of mathematical shapes. Soft, diffused light from the right rim of the canvas sculpts his features, creating a gentle chiaroscuro that emphasizes the planes of his face without harshness. The palette leans toward warm umbers, muted siennas, and deep indigo for shadow—subtle greens and ochres in the background provide depth and atmosphere while remaining unobtrusive.
